The IAIAsa KZN Branch in partnership with the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA) Environmental Impact Management Unit is proud to announce the upcoming “IAIAsa KZN and EDTEA Workshop” which is scheduled to take place on the 16th February from 10h00 to 14h00 at the Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife Auditorium, Pietermaritzburg. 

The workshop will be the pilot for future IAIAsa KZN and EDTEA workshops which we hope to host on a six monthly basis to allow Environmental Practitioners, Stakeholders and Departmental Officials to engage with one another on various aspects of EIA process, legislation and issues which officials or consultants may be experiencing within their respective EIA processes. The topics to be covered at the pilot workshop will include:

           a. Common misinterpretations

EIA Process Issues:

           a. Timeframes and general requirements
           b. Public participation
           c. EIA reports
           d. EIA review and decisions (EDTEA SOPs)
