The draft National Biodiversity Offset Policy was published by Minister Edna Molewa on 31 March 2017.
The aim of the National Biodiversity Offset Policy is to ensure that significant residual impacts of developments are remedied as required by NEMA, thereby ensuring sustainable development as required by section 24 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996.
The draft policy is published for public comment and is available here for download. All comments must be submitted Ms Willeen Olivier by the 31 May 2017. Comments must be submitted on the official commenting form available for download here and addressed to:
